This module is the first in Track 5 – Professional Development.

The module forms a key part of CISL students’ journey to apply their traditional sacred learning in the context of modern Britain.

To be able to perform well in their other modules, and any further studies they undertake, students need a good grasp of academic writing and research skills.

The aims of this module are to equip students with essential skills for successful academic writing and research. Through this module, students will develop proficiency in structuring essays, organising paragraphs cohesively, and applying critical thinking skills to engage with scholarly texts. The module also focuses on fostering effective research strategies, including source evaluation and citation practices, while emphasizing the importance of academic integrity. Additionally, the module aims to encourage self-reflection and self-editing techniques to empower students to enhance their writing through constructive feedback and revision.
