This module is the third in the Society track of the CISL Diploma. It builds on the previous two modules to enable students to engage with the complex societal issues of modern Britain. The module acts as the practical component of the Society track by encouraging students to think about the social problems affecting the Muslim community in Britain today. The module will therefore introduce students to various societal questions such as interfaith, sex, race and gender, and mental health. In parallel, each one of these questions will be related to the broader context of Muslim minority and its relationship to politics and governmentality in the UK.
